She said she was Ok

I sat with her as she talked…

It was a conversation not with me …but one she needed to have…

with someone…

someone who loved her…

She struggled to put on her tongue the words hidden deep down inside…

Her eyes couldn’t make contact with mine..

It was too real… this moment was too real…

I worried… “just tell me … trust me enough to say what you are feeling” …

At that moment, I realized like the answers to a prayer… what she needed to hear…

I spoke…” I’m here. I’m not going to judge you. I’m not going to leave you in your pain. You can tell me. I’ve got you. No matter what you say I’m still going to be standing here… loving you. Wanting you… needing you to live…I promise.”

The word “promise” was for me.. not her..

I knew she didn’t believe in promises…

Words poured from her lips like the water fall of tears from her eyes

She was in pain…

In that moment she spoke of the pain she felt…

Not a paper cut kinda pain…

Gut wrenching …soul crushing …identity killing …excruciating pain…

And I was there to hear it… witness it.. validate the pain …. and her…

She needed this…

So did I … especially because I loved her…

You see ….she said she was ok…

It was a conversation not with me …but one she needed to have…

with someone…

someone who loved her…

    • Yes the conversations are and do me the problem is often no one really wants to have the conversations I NEED to have. Wouldn’t it be nice if people could just be there for each other for conversations that NEED to had? 😊
